Here’s your chance to learn more about an ancient part of our flora which preceded flowering plants and has existed since the time of the dinosaurs. Our living classroom will be the rich woodlands of Rachel Carson Conservation Park near Olney, Md. Under the guidance of our Natural History Field Studies ferns instructor, you will learn how to begin identifying ferns in their natural habits and find out more about their life histories. We will cover 3-4 miles on well maintained, fairly flat trails. The walk will be mostly shaded but the first and last section will be through a sunny meadow. REGISTER
