Saturday, June 17 (morning field trip)
Leader: Lisa Shannon
Members $56; nonmembers $78
In-person lecture only $28/$38
Grab your binoculars and prepare to set your sights not on birds—although “mosquito hawk” is a common moniker—but on those six-legged, aerial acrobats of wetland habitats: the dragonflies and damselflies. Thursday’s illustrated lecture, presented in-person and indoors at our Woodend Sanctuary, will include ID, biology, and behavior of the more common species of Odonates in our area plus a period for Q & A. You’ll join our leader for a morning field trip to the wetland habitats of Patuxent Research Refuge (North Tract) near Bowie, MD where all will have a chance to test their identification skills.
