The Howard County Conservancy, a 325-year-old farm now operated as a nature reserve and educational facility in Woodbine, MD, offers one of the region’s best areas to observe the diversity of late summer butterflies. In addition to the normal flush of late season resident skippers and sulphurs, for example, we can expect to see a number of migrant species like Ocola Skipper, Cloudless Sulphur, Clouded Skipper, and Common Buckeye. We’ll explore the community gardens, the native plants garden, and surrounding grass and wooded trails, with an optional foray afterwards to the nearby Original Woodstock Snowball Stand. REGISTER
