Join Our Coalition
Formed in 2025, the Marylanders for Data Center Reform is a group of nearly 50 (and growing) environmental organizations and community groups working to address the impacts that hyperscale data centers have on communities and the environment. The Coalition is focused on state-level policy and advocacy in Maryland, in collaboration with our local and regional partners. As a Coalition, we are deeply concerned about the impacts data center development will have on ratepayers, communities, water and air quality, and land use decisions. Developers should prioritize sustainability with minimal impacts to communities.
Who Can Participate
- Environmental & social organizations and community groups who work in Maryland
- Groups who do not work in Maryland may participate as partners in Coalition activities, but cannot sign onto policy sign-on letters or join the Coalition as members
- Individuals and government officials may not join the Coalition, but are encouraged to sign-up for Nature Forward’s Action Alerts
Community Agreements
for Coalition Members
- We utilize a community consensus building process to identify shared priorities and yearly goals
- Members are expected to participate in Coalition activities that support sustainable data center reform. Coalition activities can include, joining monthly coalition calls, sharing action alerts, signing onto policy sign-on letters, meeting with an elected official, interviewing with a reporter, participating in lobby days, and collaborating with other coalition members
Respect Our Diversity
- We support inclusive workspaces that celebrate diversity. As coalition members, we will respect our colleagues and our differences of opinion. Organizations and community members of all backgrounds are encouraged to participate

Coalition Sign-Up
We welcome environmental and social organizations and community groups committed to data center reform to join the coalition.
