Why Choose Nature Travel with Nature Forward?

Lifelong Learning and
Transformative Experiences

When you travel with Nature Forward, you’ll return home with more than great photos and memories. You will gain increased knowledge, a broader perspective, and a deeper understanding of both the natural history and the cultural heritage of the remarkable places we visit.

Our expertly crafted journeys elevate lifelong learning, which is a core Nature Forward value.

More Than Just Birds

We adore birds and birding, but we don’t take a tunnel vision view. We love ALL of nature’s beauty! Every Nature Forward journey is immersive. We incorporate the botanical treasures, ecological relationships, and geological wonders that make each destination unique.

Although our primary focus is natural history, we also include opportunities to connect to the local culture, history, and people to create lasting impact.

Small Groups

Our groups generally range from 10 to 15 people (plus guides). That means no enormous tour buses.
No straining to hear your guide from the back of a long line. No feeling lost in a crowd. Instead, you’ll enjoy closer connections and access to your guides.

These intimate settings also foster genuine ties with fellow nature enthusiasts that can blossom into reunions, lasting friendships, and future travel companions.

Conservation in Action

Nature Forward prioritizes conservation ethics, sustainability, and social responsibility when selecting tour operators and partners. With each trip, we’ll introduce you to the partner organization and explain why we chose them.

You can travel with the confidence that your journey is intentionally designed and know that nature travel revenue directly supports Nature Forward’s environmental mission work in our local DC region!
