As Property Manager at the Woodend Nature Sanctuary, Björn and his team ensure that the mansion and grounds are beautiful and welcoming to all who visit. Björn hails from Engerdal, Norway, a municipality known for its vast wilderness, national parks, hiking, canoeing, and fishing.  

Björn has worked at Woodend since 2000, which makes him the longest-serving, currently working Nature Forward staffer. In honor of his decades of work, Nature Forward awarded Björn the first-ever Staff Recognition Award, which he accepted at Nature Forward’s 2025 Annual Meeting. 

Throughout his 25+ years of caretaking the property, Björn has cherished being able to work in and around nature. When away from the property, Björn is a big sports fan. He cheers on the Commanders in the NFL, but he saves his most serious fandom for the legendary Liverpool soccer team of the UK’s Premiere League.
