Marie Jones is the Nature Preschool Acorns Teacher and a Youth Programs Naturalist. She grew up locally rock-hopping in creeks and visiting nature centers, and she loves connecting others with a sense of wonder for nature. Marie has a BS in Elementary Education from UMD and is a Certified Interpretive Guide. After completing the Maryland Master Naturalist certification in 2023, she came on board as a Camp Woodend teacher and later as an all-around nature educator. As Acorns Teacher, she guides our youngest visitors and their caregivers on nature explorations around Woodend. She also leads field trips, birthday parties, scout events, and Green Kids lessons. Marie enjoys gardening, hiking, kayaking, writing poetry, and spending time with her husband and three kids, as much of it outdoors as possible.
