On April 9th, 2024, Nature Forward submitted comments and testified on the FY25 Montgomery County Operating Budget. We advocated for continued support and increased in areas such as climate change, clean water, stormwater, recycling, and parks. Click below to read our written testimony.
On May 23rd, 2024, the County Council voted and approved the county’s $7.1 billion FY25 Operating budget. Although some of the new climate change programs were not approved due to budget cuts, the majority of existing programs were fully funded at the requested amount by the County Executive. We look forward to continuing to work with Council and our partners in order to ensure the environment continues to be prioritized and funded in order to reach out climate goals.
