The Nature Play Space at Woodend Nature Sanctuary
is open to the public from dawn to dusk.
Please note that the Nature Play Space may periodically be closed to the public during school field trips.

Play Space Features
The Nature Play Space features play structures for children of all abilities to enjoy nature-themed fun.
Sand and Water Area
Play with natural elements and get your hands and feet dirty. Rocks, sand, water and vegetation become primary play elements, topped up with some of our features to create an environment that enables mindful yet active sensory play.
Woodland Township
Immerse yourself in Woodend’s warm and cozy community and experience the magic of social and fantasy play among the trees and picnic areas.
The Wood Thrush
The playground’s main feature is packed with challenges including climbing and sliding. The Wood Thrush also offers room for active and quiet play.
The Bird Nest
This challenging, fun climbing structure provides unlimited open-ended play opportunities for older children, teens and even adults.
Picnic Area
Enjoy lunch or a snack with your group at these picnic tables adjacent to the play space. Gatherings of groups of 10 or more require a permit or rental agreement.
