2026 Board Candidates

Gaby Argoti-Fernandez

Gaby is a portfolio manager with DC Green Bank with over 12 years of banking experience.
Originally from Ecuador, Gaby has excelled in the areas of portfolio management for commercial
loans, and banking services. Gaby was nominated to serve as Chair for the Maryland Governor’s
Commission on Hispanic Affairs. Gaby is a community leader who, through volunteer work and
literacy (ESL) workshops, aims to provide assistance to those in need. This is her way of giving back
to the community and enhancing the education of those that did not have the opportunity. She was
featured in Nature Forward’s Pertenenciendo ebook and has participated in our Naturally Latinos
Conference.

Becky Chacko

Becky is a sustainability and climate expert with 20 years of experience in strategic planning, policy
development, cross-sector partnerships, and project management. For 12 years she served as a
Senior Climate Change Integration Specialist with USAID. Her proven track record includes
designing and implementing sustainability initiatives, data-driven decision making, and managing
interdisciplinary teams to achieve environmental and climate goals. Becky is passionate about
collaborating across interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies to achieve impact
at scale. She has a unique ability to see opportunity in complex, dynamic environments in order to
drive progress and change.

Michael Feroz

Michael is an assurance director with Marcum LLP with a specialized focus on the non-profit
industry. With over 10 years of experience, he provides assurance services to a diverse range of
non-profit organizations. His career is dedicated to ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and
operational efficiency for charities, private foundations, educational institutions, trade associations
and other non-profits. With a deep understanding of the unique challenges and regulatory
requirements of the sector, he helps organizations navigate financial complexities and achieve their
mission-driven goals. Michael has been a member of Nature Forward’s Finance Committee for
many years.

Rhea Vaflor

Rhea Vaflor is an architect and designer whose professional experience offers a perspective that
complements Nature Forward’s mission. With over 15 years of experience in hospitality and
lifestyle design, Rhea specializes in uniting creative excellence with operational rigor — scaling a
Lifestyle Design studio from one designer to a multimillion-dollar practice while developing the
systems, workflows, and cultural frameworks that enable teams to thrive. She is driven by the
opportunity to translate cultural insight, trend forecasting, and human-centered strategy into
environments that elevate experience, strengthen communities, and support organizational growth.
Rhea has been a member of Nature Forward’s Development Committee since 2024.
