Our Naturally Latinos and Taking Nature Black conferences and related events are premiere showcases for regional and national environmental leaders to help inform, engage and empower diverse communities around critical environmental issues.

Naturally Latinos Conference

The 6th Naturally Latinos Conference, themed Fortaleciendo Comunidades y Ecosistemas, took place March 26 through 28, 2026. This multi-media experience provided virtual and in-person dialogue, presentations, and performances focused on the needs and interests of Latine environmental professionals, advocates, educators, and nature enthusiasts across the DC region and the world. Virtual sessions happened on Thursday, March 26th. In-person conference sessions took place on Friday, March 27th in Silver Spring, MD. Saturday, March 28th included outdoor nature activities.

Taking Nature Black Conference

Nature Forward’s 2025 Taking Nature Black conference took take place March 5 – 8, 2025.

The theme, Reclamation & Resilience, reflected the need to reclaim environmental justice and continue to build strength and power together.

The event included virtual sessions on Wednesday, March 5th and Thursday, March 6th; and in person on Friday, March 7th. Saturday, March 8th included outdoor nature activities in multiple locations in the DC area.
