An unchecked and unregulated industry is the biggest threat to national parks in the Mid-Atlantic Region. From industrial development directly adjacent to parks, growing carbon emissions and climate change, and large electric transmission lines traversing park landscapes, the threat from data centers to national parks is on all fronts. Failing to reform the data center industry in the region threatens to undermine decades of conservation and environmental efforts in Virginia and beyond.
Join us online on Tuesday June 4 @ 7pm learn about how to take action in the DMV region on data centers!
Nature Forward is working to ensure a sustainable future in Virginia and Maryland. While this webinar is FREE, your $10-$15 donation for this Conservation Café helps support that ongoing effort!
Speaker’s Bio: Kyle Hart is the Mid-Atlantic Program Manager for the National Parks Conservation Association, where he has worked for more than four years. While at NPCA, Kyle has worked to protect national parks around the region, lobbying Congress for more funding for the National Park Service and working with local governments urging them to make responsible land-use decisions to protect parks. Reforming the data center industry has become his number one priority at NPCA. When Kyle is not working to protect national parks, he can be found somewhere outside around Virginia, fishing, camping, paddling, and hiking with his wife, Jennessa, and their dog, Graham.
