The variable plumages of gulls frustrate many observers, yet these birds behavior often allows careful and studied observation. This workshop, designed for beginning and mid-level birders, will study the gull species which most commonly occur in the mid-Atlantic region. Thursday’s illustrated lecture, offered indoors at our Woodend Sanctuary, will focus on subadult and adult plumages. Saturday’s field trip will take us to one or more locations in the DMV where the birds can be studied at length. Our leader will choose the field trip location closer to the date of the program based on scouting earlier in the week. REGISTER
